As of 2009 this page will be expanding to include examples of some of the radio series that I enjoy. I've started wading through my collection and more uploads will appear in time: I will also be expanding on the text.

All files are in WMA format and quality reflects the age of the source material.

Title (in rough alphabetical order) Comments

The Burns and Allen Show George Burns and Gracie Allen. Gracie is extremely funny and this is quite a witty series.

Episode: Playing Santa Claus

Dad's Army Radio adaptations of the BBC TV series.
Dark Fantasy 1940's US anthology series

Episode: The Sea Phantom

Day Of The Triffids Atmospheric radio adaptation of John Wyndham's excellent novel.
Dimension X It seems to me to be a radio version of 'The Twilight Zone' and is very intelligent.
The Goon Show Crazy and great fun.
Hancock's Half Hour My favourite radio show. It was the inclusion of Kenneth Williams that got me listening to the show in the first place but I soon came to enjoy the show in it's own right. It's so well written.
The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy Intelligently scripted, imaginative and very funny.
The Jack Benny Show Over 900 programmes were made. He makes me laugh and the rest of the cast are very well chosen.

Episode: Christmas Tree Decoration

Journey Into Space This was the first sci-fi radio series I heard and it made me want to seek out more serials. It may be a cosy series but it's very atmospheric.
The Likely Lads Radio adaptations of the TV series.
NBC University Theater 1940s US anthology series.

Episode: Jane Eyre (with Deborah Kerr)

The Saint Modern day Robin Hood. 1940s series based on the Leslie Charteris character. Starring Vincent Price.
